It's marvellous to be three.

To be learning how to be human. A firecracker of emotion and excitement, ready to bounce this way or that.

It's marvellous to be three.

To be desperate to have your voice heard in a sea of big siblings. To stand on your chair every meal to be big and seen and participate, so your big brothers can hear you tell your "joke".

It's marvellous to be three.

To be fierce in your passion- you have a desire and it's for right NOW. You are learning the concept of wait. You have an idea and it's only in the present.

It's marvellous to be three.

Where emotions and logic collide. You passionately demand the blue cup, but it has to be used with the green spoon, beside the orange bowl. There. Now you can happily eat your cereal in peace.

It's marvellous to be three.

To want to stretch your wings, test the waters, be independent one moment, and run back to Mama's arms the next. To desire to be big one moment and need my help the next.

It's actually quite amazing- to be three.

Where you love your people so big. You give squeezes and kisses and giggles so freely. You have "favourites"- stuffies, songs, books, toys. Where you can love so sweetly and purely it melts people down to their insides.

It's quite wonderful to be three.

When the world is so exciting and every experience is new. Overwhelmed with curiosity, every day is something new and wonderful.

It's ok to be three.

To throw off restraints (car seat buckles, shoes, the word no...), basically anything that slows you down.

You're allowed to be three.

I will be here learning right along side you. How to give you the space and time you need; to slow down and see life through your eyes. You are allowed to be exactly how God made you- ready to discover the world, but still in need of a mama to kiss the booboos, constantly refill your snack, and answer your constant calls to "watch me!"

If you're privileged enough to have a three year old in your life- it means you have sticky fingers and sloppy kisses and adorable grins and a constant commentary of what they see. It's marvellous, marvellous, marvellous, to be three.
